about me

I Prasad Govenkaram a personal finance enthusiast with a strong focus on helping Indian investors make informed, practical, and long-term financial decisions. Over the years, I have developed a deep interest in simplifying complex financial concepts and making them accessible to everyday investors, particularly in areas such as mutual funds, taxation, and goal-based investing.

I run two personal finance blogs—investmentsutras.com and investopedia.org.in—where I publish educational content aimed at retail investors, salaried professionals, freelancers, and first-time investors. My content primarily focuses on mutual funds, including equity, debt, hybrid, index, and ELSS funds, along with their tax implications under Indian regulations. The objective is to remove jargon, clarify concepts, and help investors understand not just what to invest in, but why and how to invest wisely.

Alongside my work in personal finance, I bring over 25 years of experience in telecom OSS and BSS systems. I have worked across all stages of the software development life cycle, from requirements and architecture to implementation, testing, deployment, and support. My professional journey includes contributing to complex, large-scale telecom projects delivered across multiple geographies worldwide, giving me strong exposure to global best practices, governance, and structured execution.

To further strengthen my financial domain expertise, I have completed the NISM-Series-V-A: Mutual Fund Distributors Certification. I have also taken up mutual fund distribution through NJ Wealth, allowing me to assist investors with both financial education and compliant execution of their investment plans.

I believe content and execution must go hand in hand. While my blogs focus on financial awareness, my distribution practice emphasizes suitability, transparency, and long-term wealth creation rather than short-term gains. My approach is rooted in discipline, consistency, and investor-first thinking.

Through continuous learning and ethical practices, I aim to contribute meaningfully to India’s personal finance awareness journey and help investors build long-term financial confidence and stability.
